The real race for Scranton City Council, “Democrats”

The most fascinating race in NEPA this primary season, has easily been Scranton City council. With three seats open—one incumbent retiring—one withdrew for petition problems. It’s clear a minimum of two newcomers will get nominated.   However there has been an endless supply of drama in this race as well. Most notably with one candidate being heavily funded by a Republican relator—and former city council member—that I share a last name with. (We are not directly related). Another candidate who has a dodgy (to put it politely) past with sexual misconduct allegations in Luzerne County (that were later dropped by the accuser). Who also has made homophobia and transphobia the centerpiece agenda of his campaign.   I suspect neither of those two will win. Although one might get a great deal of West Side support. Who oh who, might I vote for in Coolbaugh 2?

As the Primary Election Day approaches us in Pennsylvania, I have to drop off my ballot at the local drop box. With some critical local races up for grabs. I wanted to give my unsolicited insight on why I’m voting for some candidates.   You are able to see a scanned copy of my ballot. (Except the Treasurer candidate who was too far south on the ballot to fit on the scanner bed. But I did vote for, Ira Jolley).  JUDGE OF THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS in the 43rd JUDICIAL DISTRICT (aka Monroe County): Patrick Best—Patrick is a local attorney and former chair of the Monroe County Democratic Committee. He did Pro Bono work for the county committee—including when during the 2022 election, as the Monroe County GOP led by fake elector and democracy troll, Josephine Ferro—attempted to get as many mail in ballots tossed as possible, because their (the GOP) candidates were too weak to win.  Attorney Best, successfully argued against the plaintiff’s logically flawed “pre-canvass...

 At 18:43 hours, on the 13th of May. In the year Twenty Twenty Five.  A new political and personal blog was born. Like a star joining billions upon billions of others most will never see.
